If you watched the VMAs, you have already heard what could be the lead song for the New Moon soundtrack, "Meet me on the Equinox" by Death Cab for Cutie. It seems like everyday we get more and more information about who and what is going to be on the Soundtrack. Here is a summary of what has been rumored and/or confirmed so far.
Legendary indie rockers Death Cab for Cutie have confirmed to MTV that they will be contributing a brand new track called “Meet me on the Equinox” to the New Moon soundtrack.

Muse will potentially have a song on the soundtrack as well. MTV exclusively reports -
“I think I’m having a phone call with the director tomorrow,” Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy said during some downtime at their VMA rehearsal. “He wants to use a song off the new album, so we’re going to talk about that. That could be cool.”
The track would come from Muse’s upcoming album, The Resistance, though they’re not yet certain which song Weitz has his eye on. “We don’t know which one, so that’s what we’re going to talk about,” Bellamy said. “Hopefully we’ll work something out.”

The Used is confirmed to have produced a song with Nine Inch Nails musician Danny Lohner exclusively for New Moon. The song is titled "For You I Would."
Recently, The Killers and Grizzly Bear were also confirmed to be on the soundtrack.
Update: It has been brought to my attention that sometime today we will know the Official list of every song and artist on the soundtrack. I can't wait!!!!!
