In the most recent episode of Vampire Diaries (Thursday nights at 8pm on the CW), Damon Salvatore, who is the evil of two vampire brothers, was reading a book from the Twilight Saga (we think New Moon) while his pretend human girlfriend (Caroline) was changing. This is the conversation they had..."What's so special about this Bella girl? Edward is so whipped."
"You've got to read the first book first, it won't make sense if you don't.... how come you don't sparkle?"
"Because I live in the real world where vampires burn in the sun."
"Yeah, but you go in the sun."
"I have a ring, it protects me. Long story"
"Will these bites turn me into a vampire?"
"It's more complicated than that. You'd have to feed on my blood, then die, then feed on a human, it's a whole ordeal... this book, by the way, has it all wrong."
All wrong? Oh dear. But then again, if you watch the show, that is a very Damon thing to say. We won't take it personally, for now. It's kinda funny that they mentioned Twilight on the show, don't you think?
