It seems like every major retail company is selling some form of special, unique, extra-super-duper version of the "New Moon" DVD, and we're sure you've already pre-ordered one — or more! — of your favorites. The nice thing is that, no matter which version you choose, your most basic "New Moon" DVD has some pretty interesting special features and you'll be able to get them no matter what. With so little time left until "New Moon" DVD becomes available, we figured we'd take a look at some of the featurettes that will be included.
The first clip shows how the costume department was able to make use of their expanded budget to put Bella in a more adult wardrobe. In "New Moon," Bella was not only facing the loss of her vampire love but also a senior in high school, so the more adult themes were necessary. In "Eclipse," we're seeing the continued adult theme (especially since it talks place right after "New Moon" ends) but also a little bit more freedom in Bella's outfits now that she's been reunited with Edward.
It also includes some info that was already available about how the Vancouver set crew needed to rebuild the house that was used as Bella's home on the Portland "Twilight" set, but with one small change. The Vancouver home was rebuilt with an extra window in Bella's home so that Jacob could have his scene where he jumps into her bedroom. The Portland home did not originally have that window.
The second clip goes back to the first day of "New Moon" production: "Hey, guys, it's Taylor Lautner. We are in the rainy cold of the Pacific Northwest, and it is the first day of filming on 'New Moon" is the bite used to introduce the clip. Once again, for the most part, this is old news, considering the majority of this clip is spent focusing on the Bella/Jacob relationship.
"Really, it's Jacob putting her back together in some way," director Chris Weitz described their relationship. "And yet, the sad thing about it is that even when Jacob is helping Bella pick up the pieces as it were, it's so that she can go off and see her vampire ex."
The third clip MTV has to share is the most fun of all of them. It shows the production side of Jacob's big werewolf transformation. Sure, we've seen and discussed this scene many times, particularly around "New Moon's" release, but it's fun to go back and see how the production crew made the magic happen.
Taylor looks like he's having the time of his life during the shooting, explaining how the harness works and what stunt is expected of him. "In the moment, I'm not thinking about the danger involved because I have so much adrenaline going," he said.
