"I always start with the kissing scenes," director Garry Marshall told me at last night's Hollywood premiere of the star-studded romantic comedy. "The first thing they did was kiss."

So how did it go?

"The first three were nice," Marshall said. "By the fourth I think they started going together. I don't know what the hell happened, but somewhere in the fifth or sixth take they were dating."

Marshall also confirmed reports that there's already a Valentine’s Day sequel in the works that will center on New Year's Eve.

"They're making me the holiday director," Marshall cracked. "I'm also going to do Flag Day [and] Arbor Day. Now, for all the holidays, I'll be doing something."

While Marshall says he's far from casting part two, he's already got Lautner on the brain. But that may be tough.

"He's booked until like 2020," Marshall said. "He's too busy."

But Marshall promises he'll let the Twilight star do things no other director will allow. "That Taylor can take a grape, throw it up in the air, do a flip and then catch it in his mouth," Marshall joked. "Nobody will let him do that in a movie—I'm gonna let him!"

Meanwhile, the red and pink carpet decorated with huge heart motifs (see it here on Twitter, @marcmalkin) felt more like an awards show than a premiere because it was jam-packed with stars like Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, Eric Dane Rebecca Gayheart, Jessica Alba, Patrick Dempsey, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Topher Grace, Emma Roberts, Carter Jenkins, Jewel, Jamie Foxx and Mr. Lautner.



Jennifer Garner attended without hubby Ben Affleck. Jessica Biel was also sans Justin Timberlake. But that's OK—J.T. was at a private screening of the movie that Biel recently held for her family on the Warner Bros. lot.

Swift was a no-show because she's on tour in Australia.

Taylor Swift And Taylor Lautner Will Both Attend Wednesday's People's Choice Awards

Just as the world is mourning the end of the greatest teen romance of 2009 (if you're a Team Jacob fan, that is), it was announced that Taylor Swift will attend Wednesday's People's Choice Awards — as in the same ceremony that her former beau, Taylor Lautner already RSVP'ed to as well. Does anyone else sense an awkward run-in in the works?

Swift is up for three awards — Pop Artist, Country Artist and Female Artist — while Lautner is nominated for Favorite Breakout Movie Actor and Favorite Movie and On-Screen Team along with his "New Moon" costars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. (Kristen and Rob are also nominated in the Favorite Movie Actress and Actor categories, but there has been no confirmation yet as to whether they will attend the show.)

Kellan Lutz, Ryan Reynolds and Carrie Underwood are also set to appear. The show's host Queen Latifah will be performing, as well as Mary J. Blige and Cobra Starship with Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

As much as we're excited to see what the heck Cobra Starship and Nicole have planned, we're really excited to see what will happen when the Taylors are in the same place now that they've called their romantic relationship off. It should at least be an interesting precursor to what may happen as the two embark on the publicity tour for "Valentine's Day."

Taylor Swift's hit song "You Belong With Me" doesn't apply to Taylor Lautner anymore: The singer-songwriter, 20, and Twilight heartthrob, 17, ended their low-key relationship after a few months of sharing dinners out and frozen yogurt.

But with the upcoming promotion for Valentine's Day, the romantic comedy in which the duo costar – not to mention eight nominations at next month's Grammy Awards for her and the debut of Twilight: Eclipse next summer for him – both Taylors will have many red carpets to attend in the coming year. With his good looks and sweet demeanor, Nick could be the perfect match for Swift. But a romance could have some awkward moments with the in-laws: Swift previously dated Joe, who reportedly ended things via a phone call, inspiring her to pen the song "Forever and Always."

David Henrie
The brainy Disney Channel alum just directed his first episode of Wizards of Waverly Place, on which he stars, and at 20, he already owns his own production company. Perhaps mutual friend Selena Gomez could arrange an introduction…

Chace Crawford
PEOPLE's Hottest Bachelor is a laid-back, home-cooking-loving guy, the kind of man that a good girl like Taylor deserves. And we already know the hunky Texas native likes country songstresses: The 24-year-old Gossip Girl pretty boy previously dated Carrie Underwood.

Did Taylor Squared Break UP?

Us Magazine reports, Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner have officially broken up.

A source close to the Fearless songbird says that the couple, who met while filming the upcoming romantic comedy Valentine's Day, decided to pull the plug on their relationship because it "wasn't really developing into anything, and wasn't going to, so they decided they were better as friends. There was no chemistry, and it felt contrived."

Really? It seemed totally organic and not at all a manufactured Hollywood romance to us.

The T-Swift insider reveals that the two knew it was really over when Lautner flew to Nashville to attend his girl's birthday party on December 13. According to the source, it was right about then that Lautner was kicked in the head by the realization that she just wasn't that into him:

"He liked her more than she liked him. He went everywhere he could to see her, but she didn't travel much to see him."

Oh well; we're sure there will be no shortage of volunteers to kiss that boo-boo on his heart and make it feel all better.

NEW Taylor Swift Song Included In 'Valentine's Day' Featurette

Leaked clip features singer's 'Today Was a Fairytale' and castmembers talking about the holiday.

While fans wait to see Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner fall in love on the big screen in "Valentine's Day" when it opens February 12, they can hear a bit of Swift's new song, "Today Was a Fairytale," in a leaked featurette for the film.

In the new song for the soundtrack, which will be released just days before the film on February 9, Swift sings about a magical day. Her song "Jump Then Fall" will also be on the soundtrack, according to celebrity-mania.com. The featurette also includes a brief scene of Swift swinging her hair while a TV crew stands around watching her.

The Web site posted a full track list for the soundtrack. Leighton Meester's duet with Robin Thicke, "Somebody to Love," made the cut, as well as "Cupid" by Amy Winehouse, Maroon 5's "The Way You Look Tonight" and "4 and 20" by Joss Stone.

In the featurette, members of the ensemble cast — including Julia Roberts, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Garner — discuss the film and the ups and downs of Valentine's Day. "Valentine's Day ... it's like birthdays. People either love them and love to celebrate and get caught up in it or you just hate it," Roberts says. "Valentine's Day is tricky."

Jessica Biel also discusses the day of love in the clip, saying, "Valentine's Day makes people crazy." In the film, Biel plays Kara, who doesn't want anything to do with hearts or love or Cupid. Biel added, "It makes you feel like you should have someone."

Taylor Lautner And Taylor Swift Out On The Town Together!

Another Thursday and another date for Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner. Although they've never confirmed their relationship and seemingly only dance around the rumors in interviews, these two certainly looked happy hitting the town on Thursday night.

According to Justjared.com, the two spent the day shooting scenes for their upcoming rom-com, "Valentine's Day," along with co-star Emma Roberts, before grabbing some grub. They reportedly went to Benihana in Beverly Hills for dinner and then Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt.

In the scene they shot for "Valentine's Day," the duo, along with Emma (sporting a dark wig), were seen in the bleachers at a local high school. They were also seen holding a giant pink box and stuffed polar bear. This adds to the very short list of things we know so far about their roles in the movie, including that they "just had to make out" (thanks Emma for that scoop!).

The "New Moon" stud recently spoke to Rolling Stone about the Grammy nominee, noting that he and her are "close," but not specifying just how close they are. "We got along great," he said. "We instantly clicked. And she's — she's an amazing girl. Aside from being beautiful, she's extremely funny, charismatic and fun to be around, so we definitely get along. We're close."

Meanwhile, Swift recently shared how she came up with a nickname for her rumored beau. "See, that was confusing when we were shooting the movie," she said about having the same name. "Everybody was confused, so halfway through the day, [I said], 'You call him Taylor, and you call me Swifty.' Problem solved."

Taylor Swift Laughs Off Taylor Lautner Questions...

Taylor Swift refuses to confirm rumors she is dating New Moon star Taylor Lautner. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Swift is questioned about her relationship with Lautner, who she stars with in the upcoming romantic comedy Valentine’s Day.
DeGeneres shows a picture of Swift and Lautner kissing and asks, “What’s happening there? Is that part of the movie?”
Swift confirms the kiss was a scene for the movie but laughs off DeGeneres’ inquiries about whether Lautner is a “good kisser.”
DeGeneres presses the 19-year-old further about her recent date with Lautner to a hockey game. Armed with a picture of the pair sitting in the stands, DeGeneres asks, “Is that part of the movie when you all go to some kind of game together. Is that part of the movie too?”
“I really like hockey a lot and it turns out so does he,” Swift says, laughing.
