As a mother of a seven-year-old boy, I have, no lie, seen EVERY SINGLE EPISODE of Avatar: The Last Airbender. If you haven't seen this show (usually on Nick Toons), you really should. Needless to say, I am so excited about the new M. Night Shyamalan movie adaptation of this popular series, The Last Airbender.
My favorite character on the show is Sokka. He is the comic relief and is hilarious (I once even fell off my couch laughing at him). Unfortunately, Shyamalan said he wanted to make Sokka less cheesy and slap-sticky, which is sort of the essence of Sokka.
Oh well. Such is life.
The Last Airbender is slated for release on July 2, just two days after the release of Eclipse. I seriously wonder how Jackson, who plays Sokka in the movie adaptation, will manage all the promotional appearances, but I'm not his agent, so it's not my job to figure it out. So far, the only poster that we've had has been of Aang (Noah Ringer) and Zuko (Dev Patel), but this new poster featuring Sokka (Jackson Rathbone) and Katara (Nicola Peltz) has just been released and I couldn't be more excited.
The only trailer thus far has been a teaser trailer, but rumor has it that the full length trailer will be released on February 12th. Great. I'll be laid up in bed because I'm having surgery the day before.
