Jackson Rathbone is listed to present at the "Kids Choice Awards"

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) - The 23rd annual "Kids Choice Awards" are set to air live on Saturday, March 27th and its packed with more stars than some of the recent high-profile Hollywood award shows. Among the stars announced as presenters for the awards are Tina Fey, Katy Perry, and Robert Downey Jr.


Fey will appear with Steve Carell, who both star in the upcoming comedy "Date Night." Also on hand to promote their upcoming summer movies to the tween set are Robert Downey Jr. of "Iron Man 2," Dev Patel and Jackson Rathbone of the upcoming "The Last Airbender," and Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan of "The Karate Kid," among others.

"The Last Airbender" Trailer with Jackson Rathbone..

Water. Earth. Fire. Air. In the old days, there was peace between the four nations of the world. The Avatar -- Master of all four elements -- kept peace between the the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Only the Avatar has the ability to Bend (manipulate) all four elements, but one day, he Vanished. Then the Fire Nation attacked, forcing a war on the other three nations for one hundred years. Now, for the good of the world, it's up to 12-year-old Aang (Noah Ringer), the new Avatar, and the last of the Air Nomads (Airbenders), to return peace and balance by putting an end to the war and mastering all four elements. 'Twilight' Star Jackson Rathbone Gets Toyed With-- 'Last Airbender' Action Figures Have Arrived!

FROM SPLASH PAGE:  Nickelodeon Consumer Products debuted the upcoming line of toys based on "The Last Airbender" today, including various waves of 3 3/4-inch action figures, as well as larger, action-enabled figures, costumes and other props based on Shyamalan's adaptation of the hit anime/manga series.

Among the toys featured in the line were (of course) figures based on the film's hero, Aang (played by Noah Ringer), the villainous Prince Zuko (played by "Slumdog Millionaire" actor Dev Patel) and Katara (Nicola Peltz) also factored into several waves of figures. Toys based on Sokka (played by "Twilight" alum Jackson Rathbone) are pictured above!

THE LAST AIRBENDER ACTION FIGURES

Over the past week, we've started to become inundated with promo items for The Last Airbender. Today, MTV.com released the first images for The Last Airbender action figures.

"We worked very closely with M. Night, the rest of the Paramount team and our in-house design team, along with our partner Spin-Master, to come up with the right assortment, the right size for these action figures and make sure we we had representation of all the nations within the 'Arbender' series," said Nickelodeon's Lourdes Arocho.


The first wave of toys for TLA will come out June 1 and the second set will be coming out around July 1. This will be the second time Jackson Rathbone has been made into an action figure, but as one of my best friends told me, "Friends don't let friends buy action figures", so I don't own the first action figure. I may have to hide the Sokka one from her.

Now, TLA premieres on July 2, two days after the premiere for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Why does TLA have two trailers, numerous posters and stills, and now, action figures when all we have for Eclipse is three stills and one poster with just the title? I find this quite unfair.

Okay, folks, this is the last you'll hear from me for about a week. I'm having surgery on Thursday, so I'll be out of commission. Unless, of course, you'd be okay with me making posts while I'm on Darvoset. Goodness only knows what would flow from my fingers at that point. I think you'd all be painfully scared...or scarred...maybe both.

As a mother of a seven-year-old boy, I have, no lie, seen EVERY SINGLE EPISODE of Avatar: The Last Airbender. If you haven't seen this show (usually on Nick Toons), you really should. Needless to say, I am so excited about the new M. Night Shyamalan movie adaptation of this popular series, The Last Airbender.

My favorite character on the show is Sokka. He is the comic relief and is hilarious (I once even fell off my couch laughing at him). Unfortunately, Shyamalan said he wanted to make Sokka less cheesy and slap-sticky, which is sort of the essence of Sokka.

Oh well. Such is life.

I seriously wonder how Jackson, who plays Sokka in the movie adaptation, will manage all the promotional appearances, but I'm not his agent, so it's not my job to figure it out.
